Dr. David Cheng is a Visiting Professor of the Center for Higher Education Research of SUSTech. The Chief Scientist and Vice President of MyCOS, a higher education data and consulting firm. He served as Associate Vice President of City University of Hong Kong, in charge of global affairs for over a decade. Prior to coming to Hong Kong, he was Assistant Dean for Research and Planning at Columbia College and Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science, Columbia University, while teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University for over ten years. He also served as Director and Associate Director of planning and institutional research offices at City University of New York and University of California Santa Barbara respectively. Dr. Cheng published extensively in the area of higher education research in both English and Chinese.
